About the role
The Appointment Panel members are responsible for appointing the right people to lead IMPRESS and have a pivotal role in its success. A number of the current Appointment Panel members who have been involved from the beginning have reached the end of their tenure. We want to build up our compliment again before we next have to conduct a recruitment exercise.
The Panel is particularly keen to hear from candidates who have personal experience of journalism or news publishing (particularly serving editors from IMPRESS’s membership) and people from backgrounds that are otherwise under-represented in public life.
If you have the experience, skills and dedication to help build a new era of trust between the press and the public, then the IMPRESS Appointment Panel would be delighted to hear from you.
Much of the Panel’s work is conducted by email. Panel meetings and interview panels will normally be held in London. We would normally not expect the time commitment to be more than 4 days per year.
This is an unpaid role though reasonable expenses can be claimed. Appointments are normally for a period of four years and are expected to commence early in 2019.
